Why Do We Have 3 Versions Of Stevia?
July 15, 2016
We recently had a customer ask "Why do we have 3 different versions of Stevita Stevia granules?"
Here is the response from our President Oscar Rodes:
Thanks for contacting us. I will be glad to answer your question. I have been working with stevia since the late 80’s both in the farming side and extraction and marketing aspects of the final stevia products.
The only reason to use a filler or bulking agent is to provide bulkiness to make easier to handle the product both for packaging and use by the consumer. The pure stevia is extremely sweet ( up to 250 times sweeter than sugar) thus to measure and package a single serving of the pure powder requires a very accurate equipment because it must handle a very small quantity. We employ such equipment to package our pure stevia , SimplyStevia™, in individual single serving packet each containing a few crystals of the extract weighing no more than 75 mg ( 0.0026 oz). One packet of our SimplyStevia™ with only 75 mg of the extract provides the sweetness equal to 3 packets of sugar. SimplyStevia™ is the only pure stevia available in the market packaged in a single serving. Also, it is available in a small jar, in bulk form.
All the other stevia brands in the market, unless specifically labeled as pure, use fillers , such as Truvia® ( Erythritol plus flavors), Stevia in the Raw® ( dextrose), Sweetleaf® ( FOS) , NuNaturals® ( maltodextrine) , etc.
For the consumer this can be very confusing because depending on the quantity of filler, the packet will have different intensity of sweetness. For instance, a Truvia® packet is as sweet as one packet of sugar. Each package of Sweetleaf® equals the sweetness of 2 packets of sugar. Our Spoonable™ packet ( 1 g) equals the sweetness of 3 packets of sugar. The same if you use the Spoonable from the 16 oz jar.
For the Spoonable we use erythritol as the bulking agent and for the Supreme we use xylitol which is known for its health benefits to teeth and bones.
Unlike some of our competitors we do not use any so called “natural flavors” added to the product. We refer to these natural flavors as “ masking flavors” with the only benefit is to make the product sweeter. A good quality stevia like our stevia is naturally sweet and does not require additional flavors to make it sweet.
Hope this will help to clarify the differences and again we appreciate your supporting our Stevita products.

Question About The Purity of our Simply Stevia
February 19, 2016
Regarding Stevia Simply-Stevia Pure stevia extract
We had a really good question about our Simply Stevia. Our President sent him this reply:
"On Amazon, this product’s ingredients is described as, “pure Brazilian stevia extract (min. 95% Reb A).” Can you please verify that 95% of this product is Reb A?"
Thanks for contacting us.
Yes, the SimplyStevia is produced from leaves we grow on our farms , and extracted in our own extraction factory in Brazil, with total steviol-glycosides of 99% ( the remaining 1% is moisture and other particles of the leaf) with a minimum of 95% of RA-95.
Thank you for your interest in our products.
If you have ever wondered about how pure is the stevia that we use in our products, there is your answer. All the stevia that we use is grown on our farms in Brazil.

According to commodity news reports, China is currently the biggest producer of stevia in the world, and lately has been dumping excess production in the world market specially in the USA .
As per these reports, most of the world production of stevia is processed in China.
Since there are no regulations that require producers ( packagers) of stevia products in the USA to reveal the origin of the ingredients, the vast majority of the stevia products on the store shelves in the USA contain 100% Chinese stevia.
Chunkie Dunkies Befriends Stevita Company
November 5, 2014
What are Chunkie Dunkies?
Chunkie Dunkies are awesomely delicious, nutritious snacks that are called cookies and brownies. All of their snacks are raw, vegan, gluten-free and dairy free. They are 100% guilt free and guaranteed to satisfy any craving. Some of their cookies do include our liquid stevia in the recipe. We here at Stevita, we have tried all their products and we all have our favorites. I just love pretty much all of them. Cashew Lemon Biscotti, Almond Lemon Biscotti, and the Cashew Lemon Cream cookies all contain our liquid stevia. (Pictured below)
The Owner of Chunkie Dunkies is Dina Lauro. She is a raw vegan chef. She was born to cook, growing up in an Italian family. She trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute in Manhattan. There she learned the art of creating delicious plant-based foods without animal ingredients. So it makes natural sense that she uses our stevia in her recipes.
Stevia is plant based and totally vegan. The sweet treats that she has come up with are some of the best low carb snacks that I have ever eaten.
We whole heartedly recommend this company to add to your taste buds some very satisfying sweet treats. They are low carb and great tasting too!!
